Companies House ID verification — done for you, in Newry
The rules changed on 18 November 2025
Identity verification is now a legal requirement under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act.
- New directors and PSCs must verify before appointment or incorporation takes effect.
- Existing directors must verify by the date of their company’s next confirmation statement.
- The transition period closes in November 2026.
You can do it yourself directly with Companies House, or you can have an Authorised Corporate Service Provider do it for you. We are the second one.
You will need to verify if you are: a director of a UK limited company · a person with significant control (PSC), usually anyone holding more than 25% of the shares or voting rights · an LLP member · or being appointed to any of these for the first time.

My Mailbox Services is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider registered with Companies House, and supervised by HMRC for anti-money-laundering. Not every firm offering to “help” with this is.
We’re local, and you can phone us
We’re in Newry. You’ll speak to a person rather than a chatbot, and you can come and sit across a desk from us if you’d rather do it face to face.

Common questions
Do I have to use an ACSP?
No. You can verify directly with Companies House using their online service. People come to us when they’d rather not do it themselves, when the online route won’t work for them, or when they have several directors to sort at once.
What if I’m a director of more than one company?
You only verify once. Your verified status then applies across all of your directorships.
How long does it take?
The appointment itself takes a few minutes. Standard turnaround is 2–3 working days, or same day if you need it.
I’ve already verified — do I need to do anything?
No. Once you’re verified, that’s done.
What if I don’t have a passport or driving licence?
Give us a ring. There are other routes, and we’ll talk you through what will work for you.
Can you verify someone who isn’t in Northern Ireland?
Yes — get in touch and we’ll arrange it.
